Jan Willem de With wins Peer Raben Music Award
The Peer Raben Music Award 2023 went to Jan Willem de With for his score to the short film "Abia" (directed by Sam Nutt). According to the jury his composition stood out for "its intelligent and courageous dramaturgical choices, captivating in its tactility and sensitivity". The jury was convinced by the transparent textures and the calmness guiding of the main characters.
The score "puts the storytelling, the images and the music in an intense dialogue and lets the film breathe, which generates a contrast to its very violent topic", said the jury in its statement.
The jury consisted of Philipp Budweg (Film producer) Sanna Salmenkallio ( Composer, HARPA Award winner 2022), Jørund Samuelsen (Composer, HARPA Award winner 2023).
The Peer Raben Music Award was awarded for the 15th time, commemorates the great German film composer Peer Raben and gives 1.500 Euro to the winner.

Oticons Faculty Grand Price 2020
Jan Willem won one of the two Oticons Faculty Grand Prizes in 2020, a challenging international Film Music competition led by a top-class jury consisting of composers such as Lalo Schifrin (Mission Impossible), Joe Kraemer (Jack Reacher), Jeff Rona (Far Cry 4), Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love) and Sir Dirk Brossé.

Zurich Film Festival Premiere
Two films for which Jan Willem de With composed and produced the score will have their premiere at the Zurich Film Festival 2017. One of the scores is now available on his official soundcloudpage.
Filmmusik-Abend im Kino
Im Rahmen seines Abschlussprojektes stellt Jan Willem de With filmmusikalische Arbeiten am 24.6/17:00 im Kino Toni in Zürich vor.
Neben der Vorstellung verschiedener Filmprojekte wird ein kurzer Einblick in deren Konzeption und die Entwicklung des musikalischen Schaffens gegeben. Im Anschluss findet ein geselliger Ausklang/Austausch im kleinen Kreise statt.
Es wird eine Gästeliste geführt und die Teilnehmerzahl ist beschränkt.
Aus diesem Grund wird um rechtzeitige Anmeldung über das Kontaktformular gebeten.
Jan Willem de With gewinnt "Deutschen Filmmusikpreis 2016"
Für seine Filmmusik zu dem Kurzfilm "Little Infinity" von Viviane Tanner, Patricia Wenger und Stephanie Thalmann gewann
Jan Willem de With den "Deutschen Filmmusikpreis 2016" in der Kategorie "Beste Musik im Kurzfilm" im Rahmen der Filmmusiktage in Halle.
Die Filmmusik wurde mit dem Radiorundfunk Orchester Skopje (Fames Project) aufgenommen und im "Idee und Klang Studio, Basel" gemischt. Ebenfalls an diesem Abend ausgezeichnet und geehrte wurde der Musiker und Filmkomponist Klaus Doldinger (u.a. bekannt durch seine Musik zu "Tatort" oder "Das Boot").
Ein weiteres Highlight der Filmmusiktage in Halle bot sich Jan Willem am Galaabend, an dem seine Filmmusik zu dem Stummfilm "Die Apachen von Paris" (entstanden im Rahmen der Masterclass mit Prof. Benjamin Köthe, Prof. Bernd Ruf, Holger Busse) von der Staatskapelle Halle uraufgeführt und live im MDR übertragen wurde.

Verleihung des Kulturförderpreises Musik 2016
Am 23.9.2016 war es soweit!
Der Kulturförderpreis Musik 2016 des Landkreis Lüneburg ging dieses Jahr an Jan Willem de With für sein musikalisches Engagement und seine kompositorischen Leistungen. Ebenfalls ausgezeichnet wurde die Autorin Martha Sophie Marcus.
Die Preise wurden von Landrat Manfred Nahrstedt in der Scharnebecker Domäne überreicht.
Bleeding Heart Charity Projekt
Nächstenliebe, Toleranz und Hilfe – das ist es, was das Charity Project „Bleeding Heart“ ausmacht. Die Idee wuchs unter den Eindrücken der den Schrecken des Krieges entkommenen Flüchtlingskindern und dem spontanen Wunsch zu helfen. Auf Initiative von Jan Willem de With entstand eigens dafür ein Spendensong mit Musikvideo.
Über 50 Studenten, Förderer, Sponsoren und Ehrenamtliche haben mit viel Herzblut und großem persönlichen Einsatz zum Gelingen des „Bleeding Heart" Charity Projects beigetragen. Mehr erfahren ...
